I first add 4 extra lines, then I shift 4 small triangles by rotation, as indicated in the figure. Now it becomes clear that the the whole thing can be rearranged in such a way that we get 5 squares of the same size, of which the middle yellow square is one.
So the area of the yellow square is a 5th of the big square.
